About this unit

All of us aim to find happiness, but our attempts to achieve it frequently fail. Working hard to improve our circumstances often leaves us less happy than we started out. Why is this? And how can we do better?

In this unit, we follow an inquisitive character named Maya as she explores the philosophy and science of happiness with the help of two Yale scholars. As we draw on the wisdom of ancient thinkers and the results of emerging scientific research, we pursue a better understanding of what happiness is and how we might have more of it in our lives.
