Opening self-reflection

Reflect on your own relationship to happiness.
Begin this unit by taking a moment to reflect on your own happiness, guided by the following questions:
  1. How important is it to you to be happier than you are now?
  2. How much control do you have over your future happiness?

    1. Not too important. I have found that it is better not to focus on happiness but rather on worthwhile goals that are consistent with good values and principles.
    2. I feel like I have a fair amount of control over my sense of well-being when I focus on goals, values, and principles and practice being grateful, for example.

    1. A little. I'm kind of floating around right now though, the world's on fire and there's not a lot I can do to change it so I'm trying to have fun right now.
    2. Not a lot. Somebody could be really mean to me or break my bones. That would make me very, very unhappy and it's something I don't have a lot of control over. :(

    1. However, I understand that happiness is important to many people and can greatly impact their overall well-being and quality of life.

    2. Not a lot, but I can control now.

    1. Somewhat important because I'm somewhat content with my happiness now, but I know there are things that will make me happier in the future.

2.Full control, by removing the people and things that brings me discomfort, pain etc from my life as well as accepting the things I can't fix or change for what they are I can have full control over my happiness.

    1. I'm pretty happy now so it's not really important to me to be any happier at this current moment, but most of the time it's pretty important for me to be happier.
2.HA! Does anyone really have control over their future happiness? You can't really control the future! Like someone I love could die randomly and that would definitely affect my happiness. so in my opinion I have no control of my happiness in the future.
