Read the passage.
It's summer at the beach. You build the perfect sandcastle. Oh, no! Suddenly, a wave knocks it down. The water is getting closer and closer, so you grab your towel and run. But why does this happen?
The tide, or ocean level, goes in and out every day. As Earth turns, part of it faces the moon. The moon's gravity is strong; it pulls the ocean out, which makes the water rise. But Earth keeps turning. When it spins away from the moon, the water comes back in again.
Based on the passage, why might you grab your towel and run?
