Read the passage.
A butterfly goes through many changes in its life cycle. It begins as a tiny egg. When the egg hatches, a hungry caterpillar appears. The caterpillar eats and eats many leaves. It eats so much that it grows over 100 times its original size. When fully grown, the caterpillar creates a chrysalis, or case, around itself. Inside the chrysalis, the caterpillar completely changes. When it comes out, it has transformed into a beautiful butterfly.
