Try using duck tape. You could use hot glue if you don't mind not being able to take it off.

No. After placing the camera on the screws, above the nuts used to set the height, he puts more nuts over the camera. When tightening those nuts, the rotational force is acting against the screw, not the other nut.

Yes, you could do that. Great for taking selfies! :D
