Details that support the central message 3

Problem

Read the passage.
LaQuenton took a deep breath. Training his new puppy, Spot, was proving to be harder than he had imagined. “Spot, come here”, LaQuenton commanded. Spot barked and rolled in the grass. “No, Spot, come”, said LaQuenton. Spot barked at a leaf that blew by. “This is useless—it’s a total waste of time”, said LaQuenton.
“Maybe he just needs some help to understand what he’s supposed to do”, said Mom. She handed LaQuenton a small dog treat.
LaQuenton held the dog treat up and out in front of him. “Spot, come here.” Spot sniffed the air and came running over. “It worked!” LaQuenton said. “I’m glad I didn’t give up!”
