I don't have a question but more of a statement: I think what Khan Academy is doing for the world is noble and worthy of recognition. When I was at school I was told I was too dumb to go university ( and it really hurt). I was determined to prove them wrong and got my 1st bachelors then distinction masters degree in science and I am now doing a clinical PhD. My biggest motivator has been people's doubt in my abilities. I'm telling you this cause I remember listening to Sal in my first year on glycolysis to athlersclorosis and taught myself so many concepts that my school didn't seem to think I was worthy of. My next goal is medicine which is my biggest test to date and I am struggling with learning the shear volume of knowledge required, but I know that khan academy is there to guide me through my studies day by day until I get there. Thank you Sal and all the khan academy team, my life has so much more meaning and purpose because of your mission. Keep educating the world, and thank you.

I never focused or tried to learn in middle school. I feel that I’m very behind in math. I want to go to college but I don’t want to go in unprepared and fail. Then I will mess up my life plan and it will be hard to get back. I have about 7 weeks before my SAT and I need an average score to get in to the college I want. Do you think that if I go through all of the lessons on this website that it will prepare me for college? Is the the math that is at college? How long do you think going through and learning all these lessons will take?

hi Everyone , this might seem silly and kind of late asking these questions , BUT i need to ask two questions and i will appreciate your feedback .
1- how does khan study or learn ? i mean how can he truly learn all these subjects and at the same time have the ability to contribute it to the community ? it is like elon musk learning rocket engineering.(HOW ?)
2- what is the best method for studying chemistry ? currently i'm re-taking my general chemistry , to give you some background i used to study say two to three days before exams ( not anymore) but i didn't put a lot of emphasis on practice problems , i simply read the notes and watched videos and somewhat do examples. i once asked a classmate of mine on how he studies and he told me that he works on the practice problems all the time and when he needs to understand the concepts he simply watches khan , do you think this is a good strategy ? please bear with me if you don't understand my points , it is just that since i failed this course and college algebra i came to realize i have a bad studying strategy . AND above all how i approach my learning methods for example in college algebra i could work on the problems and do ok in quizzes and exams but when it came to three part applied application projects totally worth 50 points i failed miserably to make sense of it . example how can i take the lessons i read and practiced to solve real world applications . these are the problems i'm currently trying to improve so please any feedback will be appreciated and thank you in advance .

Video transcript

(bright music) - [Narrator] Nobody's born smart. We all start at zero. Can't talk, can't walk, certainly can't do algebra. Adding, reading, writing, riding a bike, nobody's good at anything at first. There was a time when Einstein couldn't count to 10 and Shakespeare had to learn his ABCs just like the rest of us. Thankfully, we're born to learn. Slowly, surely, you stumble, slip, crawl, fall, and fail, and fall, frustrating, confusing, trying, struggling, until one day, you walk. One foot in front of the other. One idea on top of the next. Each wrong answer making your brain a little bit stronger. Failing is just another word for growing and you keep going. This is learning. Knowing that you'll get it even if you haven't gotten it yet. Because the most beautiful, complex concepts in the whole universe are built on basic ideas that anyone anywhere can understand. Whoever you are, wherever you are, you only have to know one thing, you can learn anything.
