Create accounts for you and your children
Khan Academy lets you track your child's/children's progress so you can support their individual learning needs. Signing up is completely free for you and your child/children. Get started right away here, or follow these instructions below:
- Create your account
All adult accounts (>13 years of age) have the same capabilities, whether you select "Teacher" or "Parent" during sign up. Each account has the option to learn, coach, or parent.Note: When you click "Parent" during sign up, the site will guide you through the process of creating both your account and your child’s account. If your child is under 13, their account will have special privacy considerations. - Create child accounts
These instructions will walk you through how you can create accounts for your children - whether they are above 13 years-old, below 13 years-old, or if you have multiple children.

- I registered both of my kids, and we did some math with that account. After some time, school teacher made a school account with school email, and they started to do in that account for a whole year. Now, as they finished the school year and about to start new school year, my child switched to his old account. But what he wants is to migrate the school ones with the old account. Is is possible? How as a parent I can add the other account?(11 votes)

- I accidentally added my student as my child, is there a way to fix that? I was not aware that there was a difference until it was too late.(4 votes)
- Given how soon it is, why not just delete the account that is set up as your child and have it recreated as a student.(8 votes)
- Parents can also themselves be students. I am a father to my son who is enrolled in Khan (he is in 2nd grade), but I am also a student learning Javascript from KA. If not mistaken, KA presently provides a dashboard to parents as teacher but not when a duality exists (as teacher and student at the same time?). Thanks,(3 votes)
- No, you are a bit wrong. I believe that ANY profile on Khan Academy can be both a coach (or parent) and a student. Every profile is provided a dashboard, no matter whether they are a coach, a parent, or a student.(5 votes)
- When I set up my 8 year old son I created the account using my email address. I was unaware of the Child Account option. How can I set him up correctly and port over all of the work he has already completed and achieved? Thank you.(5 votes)
- If you have a different email address, you can set yourself up as a parent and ask to coach your son using that email address as a designee. Your request to coach will appear in your son's tabs and when he accepts it, you can see all his progress.(5 votes)
