Activate and set-up your teacher account

- [Instructor] Welcome to MAP Accelerator basics for teachers. This series of videos will help you learn more about how to use MAP Accelerator with your students. MAP Accelerator is a personalized learning tool that empowers teachers and provides differentiated learning experiences for students. It was created in partnership with NWEA and Khan Academy. MAP Accelerator uses MAP growth scores and Khan Academy's personalized learning system to give each student a custom learning path while teachers receive real time data to inform instruction. Each student's personalized learning path includes recommended practice problems, real time feedback, scaffolded help, and instructional videos and articles. Today we will learn how to activate and set up teacher accounts. This task should take about five to 10 minutes and should be completed independently. We recommend completing this task before working with students. To get started activating your account, log into Clever with your school district, username, and password. If you need further assistance logging into Clever, please visit Clever's support center or reach out to your district administrator for support. Once you're logged in, you should see the MAP Accelerator app under more apps, district. If you'd like, you can hover over the MAP Accelerator app icon and select the heart to add the MAP Accelerator app to your favorites, which provides easier access to the app on your Clever homepage. Click the MAP Accelerator app to connect to MAP Accelerator. Once you're on the Khan Academy website, you have two options to log into MAP Accelerator. You can create a new account or you can log into an existing Khan Academy account. If you have an existing Khan Academy teacher account, we suggest you link it to MAP Accelerator. Your data and progress for all of your classes will be in one place. Don't worry, your old classes will not be affected. This choice is available one time only, and you cannot unlink accounts. First, let's go through the process for logging in to an existing account. We will then come back to show the process of creating a new account. Select login to my existing account. If you typically authenticate using Google single sign-on, select continue with Google, or you can enter your email or username and password. Upon successful authentication, Khan Academy will link your existing account information, including all previously created classes, and will also display your district rostered classes and students. You will see the welcome pop-up confirming you're ready to get started by downloading the welcome guide as needed. We recommend downloading the welcome guide to help you learn more about MAP Accelerator. Now let's go back to show you how you would activate your account if you need to create a new account on Khan Academy. If you're new to Khan Academy, click create new account. We will set up a district rostered account for you immediately, and you will be shown a welcome message to help you get started with MAP Accelerator. You will see the welcome pop-up confirming you're ready to get started by downloading the welcome guide as needed.
