- This is why war is so horrible...
And now, with more deadly weapons, it's more horrible, I really hope the Ukraine vs. Russia war would end(6 votes) - 5.3 million German soldiers were killed in ww2 in total.(3 votes)
- I don't mean to be a downer, but I think Russia will take Ukraine just look at the size of Russia I just think the war between Ukraine and Russia is pointless.(1 vote)

- This section is about wwii. Why is everyone talking about the Russia-Ukraine thing?(1 vote)
- Possibly because of the staggering statistics of Russian deaths during the war, and how little their government has changed to prevent that from happening again.
Putin seems to be following in Stalin's footsteps, throwing undertrained and underequipped soldiers into battle, the thought being that it's cheaper to let them die than to waste time and money training and properly arming them.
For a country with a lack of materials, I suppose that is a strategy, but the coldness of discounting the human cost is horrific. The constant barrage of sheer numbers also makes it extremely difficult for whatever country they're going up against (Germany then, Ukraine now) to feel like they're ever getting somewhere, leading to a long and drawn-out war.(2 votes)
