While VSEPR theory explains bonding in terms of electron pair repulsions, valence bond (VB) theory uses quantum mechanical principles approach to show that bonding happens as a result of overlapping of atomic orbitals. Let's learn more about VB theory in this video. Created by Revathi Ramachandran.
