Annibale Carracci, Landscape with the Flight into Egypt

Annibale Carracci, Landscape with the Flight into Egypt, c. 1604, oil on canvas, 122 x 230 cm (Galleria Doria Pamphilj, Rome); painted in Rome for Cardinal Aldobrandini then part of Olimpia Aldobrandini’s dowry in 1647 to the Pamphilj family.

Note: the attribution of Landscape with the Fall of Icarus to Pieter Bruegel the Elder has been questioned and the canvas is now thought to be a later copy of a lost original.
