In collaboration with the National Constitution Center, welcome to Constitution 101. This course is meant to serve as the foundation to your understanding of key historical documents and dive deep into the U.S. Constitution.

Welcome to Constitution 101!

Have you ever wondered what it takes to become a constitutional scholar? We built this course in partnership with the National Constitution Center to guide you into a deep dive of the United States Constitution and other major historical documents. The objectives of this course are to help you:
  • understand the Constitution's text, history, and structure.
  • analyze key primary source documents and landmark Supreme Court cases.
  • learn directly from constitutional scholars.
Regardless of your familiarity with how the United States government works, this course will help you cultivate the skills necessary to analyze all sides of constitutional questions.
As you progress through the course, you’ll watch interviews with leading constitutional scholars, who explain how the Constitution has shaped the government throughout American history and continues to influence important debates today.
In addition to the articles and videos in this course, we've included a number of exercises for you to complete. These are designed to help you apply the concepts you've learned to the world around you. By putting your knowledge into practice, you will be able to understand the processes of government and promote change in your community.
