Healthy School Lunches, Please!

by Danny Katz
  1. What do you normally eat for lunch at school? I usually have pizza, a hot dog, or rubbery chicken nuggets. But these foods aren’t very healthy. Students need healthy foods to learn and stay strong. This is why schools should provide healthy lunches for students.
  2. Most school lunches are full of fat, sodium, and sugar. These foods can cause health problems. In fact, one-third of children are overweight. Obesity can then lead to other problems like diabetes and high blood pressure. Nutritious lunches will help students stay healthy.
  3. Healthier lunches also help students do better in school. There’s proof to suggest that foods high in fat can have a harmful effect on learning. Students who eat fast food score lower on tests than students who eat better foods.
  4. In conclusion, schools should serve nutritious lunches. Healthier lunches can help reduce obesity in students. They can also help students learn more and perform better on tests. Healthy lunches create healthier students!
