Lesson 1: Hair simulation 101Spring-mass system with support springs
Try changing the parameters in the simulation below. What sort of hairstyles can you make?

- Try this:
4% damping
84 hairs
6 springs per hair
Spring length 48
Spring stiffness 4
Support length 49
Support stiffness 1(61 votes)- Every time I am almost finished, IT CRASHES 😭(22 votes)
- I have a question, when I apply support springs, how to calculate net force?(19 votes)
- I wonder how they do this?(11 votes)
- Move on in the course, everything is there(2 votes)
- just max damping and hairs then put springs per hair to 1....(10 votes)
- Has any one tried putting everything as low as it can go? What I found worked really well was;
Damping 6
Hairs 100
Springs per hair 4
Spring length 32
Spring stiffness 9
Support length 35
Support stiffness 1
Someone else also had something you could try. It was one of the more recent ones.(7 votes)- I think i did and it crashed(2 votes)
- this spring thing is pretty fun.(7 votes)
- but everything at max and show springs and support springs its so weird(7 votes)
- try everything at its max except sph and sp both of them at the least(6 votes)
- I put everyting on max and it crashed(5 votes)
- Try this;
5% damping
100 hairs
100 springs per hair
Spring length 100
Spring stiffness 100
Support length 100
Support stiffness 0
Then put the support stiffness to 100. Make sure you wait until the hairs are straight or close to it. It should look like this when you're done;
5% damping
100 hairs
100 springs per hair
Spring length 100
Spring stiffness 100
Support length 100
Support stiffness 100
And then
💥💥💥💥💣💣🧨🧨💣💣💥💥💥💥BOOM
(5 votes)- i got no idea!(1 vote)
