Interpret remainders in word problems.
Introduction
In the last article, we learned that a remainder is what remains after dividing. For example, when dividing , we get with a remainder of , which can be written like this:
But what do remainders mean in the real world? To answer this question, let's think through some examples.

There are penguins going on a field trip to an iceberg. The penguins get into equal-sized groups.

James has apples to make apple pies. Each pie needs apples.
