    When will the SAT acknowledge, as most style guides have (including MLA) that "they" is now generally accepted as a singular pronoun when gender reference is irrelevant? Example: "A good writer should edit their work carefully." This is far more readable than the awkward "A good writer should edit his or her work carefully." (Of course, a good writer IRL would probably make "writer" plural to avoid the problem in the first place, but still.)

    while vertical farming techniques are much more efficient in its use of water.
    Here the underlined word is its the reason why it ismodified to "their" is because of the plural form - techniques am i correct ?
