- this is because the passage does not contain any info specifically nodding towards tanner's contemporaries and political views, it just basically conveys that historians today shouldn't judge tanner's painting as per today's political standards. hope this helped:)(4 votes)

- Yep, there is a way to solve the questions faster if you are referring to STANDARD ENGLISH CONVENTIONS!
This is how: First, check the options then you will able to
understand what type of question type it is.
Secondly, try to solve the answer by reading only the sentence with the blank.
Lastly, eliminate 3 options or follow the rules and choose the right answer directly.
Suggestion: I suggest to choose the right answer first and if you have time at the last then, cross out the options and get to your answer.
