Taking a standardized test can be an intimidating prospect, but practicing on Khan Academy can sharpen your skills, boost your confidence, and ensure that you’re prepared for anything the test might throw at you.
We’re glad you’re here, and we’re excited to help you achieve the best score you can on test day!
What is the digital SAT?
College Board, the maker of the SAT, is introducing changes to both the content of the test and how the test is administered in order to better fit the needs of students and educators. Most notably, the test will transition from being taken with paper and pencil to being administered via a digital assessment platform accessed by computer.
While the transition to digital will bring a number of student- and educator-friendly changes, many important features of the SAT Suite will stay the same. The SAT Suite will continue to measure the knowledge and skills that students are learning in school and that matter most for college and career readiness. The digital SAT isn’t simply a digital version of the current paper and pencil test—it will be easier to take, more secure, and more relevant.
Which version of the SAT will I take?
The transition to the digital version of the SAT will occur gradually over the next two years:
Starting in March 2023, the digital SAT will be administered to all international students (students taking the test outside the United States or its territories).
Starting in spring 2024, the digital SAT will be taken by all students (both international and within the US).
So, if you’re planning to take the SAT in 2023, you should prepare for the digital SAT only if you’ll be taking the test internationally. If you plan to take the SAT in 2023 within the US, you should prepare for the paper and pencil test using Khan Academy’s Official SAT Practice.
If you’re planning to take the SAT in 2024 or later, regardless of location, you’re in the right place!
What is the best way to prepare for test day?
Khan Academy’s Official Digital SAT Prep includes thousands of SAT Math questions and hundreds of SAT Reading and Writing questions developed by the test-maker, College Board, and loaded with insightful lessons and explanations written by Khan Academy’s test prep experts. Before jumping into practice, though, we recommend getting familiar with the format of the test, the content of the test, and the digital platform on which the test is administered by taking a full length practice test.
There are two main components to a productive practice plan:
- Full-length practice tests
Full-length practice tests give you the best idea of what test day will be like, offering the ideal opportunity to both test your skills and become familiar with the testing platform. You can take full-length practice tests using College Board’s Bluebook app. After taking each practice test, you can review your performance and read answer explanations for the questions you missed.
We recommend taking full-length practice tests at set intervals throughout your test prep journey. Starting with a practice test will allow you to diagnose the areas where you need the most practice. Future practice tests will allow you to gauge your progress, refine the focus of your skill practice, and build endurance and experience for test day.
- Skill practice
Skill practice involves exploring the different types of SAT questions, learning strategies for answering those questions, and practicing the skills that those questions test. The best way to practice individual skills is to explore both the digital SAT Math course and the digital SAT Reading and Writing course on Khan Academy. You can read articles and watch videos covering each skill, and then you can practice those skills and test yourself in the related exercises. As you become proficient in more skills, you’ll become more prepared for test day.
Good luck! You’ve got this.

- Why doesn't Khan Academy have full digital SAT tests available in it?(28 votes)
- Wish they did! But looks like dSAT was designed to host practice and the real test on the same Bluebook app to make the transition to digital format as smooth as possible for students. Moreover, students can take dSAT on their own laptop or tablet, so making practice tests as identical to the real test (except in questions!) was likely a high priority. That said, everything is so much better on Khan Academy - it's just so engaging, conveys the inherent excitement in learning.(25 votes)
- Hi there! Where is the "Review" section for the digital SAT prep? There is still a review section on the normal SAT prep dashboard.
Please add this section also on this new digital sat prep dashboard. It helps students a lot to review their mistakes and question what they already have done well!(17 votes)- Is it possible that the "Course Challenge" at the bottom of the course gives something like what you're looking for?(1 vote)
- What is the difference in the content?(9 votes)
- It is explained in this article. Reading has major changes, but Math too has shorter questions, and slightly updated curriculum.(4 votes)
- How long will each section last?(8 votes)
- Will we be given any page for doing rough work in DSAT?
Also how many marks does one question hold?(7 votes)- Please see the College Board website for these details. I think it's answered on some page there.(2 votes)

- I have heard that SAT#2 has been cancelled ,and I can not apply to any collage with just SAT#1 so what am I supposed to do after finishing SAT#1?(6 votes)

- Sir if i am completed digital sat math and reading-writing course then can i get 1500+ in digital sat ya we need to study some additional material.(4 votes)
- Pacing is really important. Especially, the second module. Let assume our target is 1500+, which means you need to get 750+ in both the sections.
To get that, you need to reach (averagely) harder module questions. You need to answer more harder questions now in the same amount of time. Need a solid approach and techniques along with practice.
So when you practice, try to do the same questions with the different approaches to see which one saves your time a lot.
All the very best!(2 votes)
