Coding is becoming a more commonplace subject to learn in high school, college, and beyond, but the true basis, binary, and the physical workings of the microchips on which our lives are run, are also necessary to understand. This is truefor the present day; however, if the age of computers is to continue to prosper and grow in efficiency, concepts such as those of trinary , which may lead technologists to revolutionary methods of computing, are also necessary to understand.

So does this hold out for the Quaternary system as well?
I mean, will it have 0, 1, 2 and 3 in it's place values?
And if it does, does it also acts in the same way as the ternary and binary systems?
Ex: 0 2 3 1 = 1*(1) + 3*(4) + 2*(16) + 0*(64) = 1 + 12 + 32 + 0 = 45
And does it also work the same way for higher number systems?(4 votes)
Yes. It works just as in decimal. Multiply the digit in the numberntimes thebplace vslue and sum the products to get the decimal representation.(5 votes)
- Why say that trinary is more complicated than binary when the digits are twos? This seems to me to add confusion instead of clarification.
The general case is always the digit's place value times the digit itself. In the case of binary, the possible digits are0and1. For trinary,0,1, and2. For octal,[0-7].(4 votes)
Stating that trinary is more complicated than binary is just the guy's opinion. Although I would agree that it's more complicated because it gives those of us who have not been made aware of the infinite amount of possible number systems, a new concept to wrap our minds around. When I was initially learning and practicing the binary system, it felt very daunting and complicated, but now that I truly understand, it seems extremely simple to me just as it does to you. Simply put: Him saying that was a simple validation for people who are struggling to understand the concept of it. After all, mathematics can be a pretty discombobulating subject. :)(4 votes)

In electronics, binary is represent by high and low voltage. Trinary would be represented by high, low and medium voltage.(5 votes)

Simply decimal digit, or digit if decimal is implied (that means a given from the surrounding context).
Explanation: Bit is (originally) short for binary digit. Trit is short for trinary digit. There is no widely accepted shortening of decimal digit. Some authors use dit as a continuation of the aforementioned pattern.(1 vote)

He is basically comparing binary that runs computer with trinary and decimal systems in real life and trinary system may be used in computer in the future.(2 votes)
