How much does it cost to make a spout bot?(2 votes)
So far, it's cost me under$13, including shipping to Australia. I've not bought the motors, the batteries or the glue gun, but think this should be around AUD20, so total cost is going to be under $40, including shipping.(2 votes)

Hello Cat,
I could tell you it is because of years of practice and study. That would only be partially true. Sure it takes work, but you need that spark of interest. You need a series of small successes. You need encouragement and support.
I started in electronics by taking things apart. My father would pick up old radios and broken TV sets at the Salvation Army and I would take them apart to see what was inside. Later, I learned how to fix some of the common problems. More importantly, the spark was ignited. I wanted to know how things worked.
Today, over three decades later, things are different. I still recommend you take things apart but you will find it difficult to fix things. Those vacuum tube radio I learned on are all but gone and the new electronics is very hard to repair as it is considerably more complex and the parts are very small. But, you have opportunities that I could only dream of.
I recommend you get in contact with the VEX robotics coach at the high school. She / he will be able to get you started on a good path. Another idea is to program Arduino. Ask the science folks in your school to help you get started. They may be able to lend you some hardware.

Do you have a parts list for the "without solder" variety?(1 vote)- Why do you need more then one pair of safety glasses when its only myself ?(1 vote)

NO! Your personal safety is not about who is in the room with you. It is about what can happen to you.
We all do stupid things - from personal experience I can tell you that "corneal abrasions" are no fun. They hurt and take a long time to heal.
If you have safety glasses use them - even if no one is around to see you.
