Referencing time-stamp1:23“reads the CRISPR”– Aren’t CRISPR-sequences genetic markers for unique, non-palindromic DNA sequences replicated using information from invading viruses? Meaning that the viral-specific (non CRISPR) DNA sequences would be inserted between CRISPR sequences. I was confused because the stored DNA-turned-RNA sequence in this video is depicted as palindromic, but CRISPR doesn’t aid in the viral targeting portion of the immune response, it’s kind of just a filing system for unique viral sequences. Because of this, shouldn’t the RNA in the video be depicted as a viral nucleotide sequence rather than a CRISPR? Unless my understanding is skewed, which could definitely be the case.(2 votes)
