Coordinate plane parts review

Review the parts of a coordinate plane, and try some practice problems.

Axes

A coordinate plane has one horizontal axis, the start color #11accd, x, start text, negative, a, x, i, s, end text, end color #11accd and one vertical axis, the start color #1fab54, y, start text, negative, a, x, i, s, end text, end color #1fab54.

Origin

The start color #11accd, x, start text, negative, a, x, i, s, end text, end color #11accd and start color #1fab54, y, start text, negative, a, x, i, s, end text, end color #1fab54 intersect at the start color #e07d10, start text, o, r, i, g, i, n, end text, end color #e07d10. The start color #e07d10, start text, o, r, i, g, i, n, end text, end color #e07d10 is located at ordered pair, left parenthesis, 0, comma, 0, right parenthesis.

Quadrants

The coordinate plane is divided into four quadrants. Quadrant one (QI) is the top right fourth of the coordinate plane, where there are only positive coordinates. Quadrant two (QII) is the top left fourth of the coordinate plane. Quadrant three (QIII) is the bottom left fourth. Quadrant four (QIV) is the bottom right fourth.
