• Can you also compare fractions by rewriting them as decimals?
• Yes - sometimes that is an easier.
For example if you have 7/10 and 3/4 and you know that 7/10 = 0.7 and 3/4 = 0.75, so 3/4 is bigger.
Sometimes it is harder. For example: you wouldn't want to change 3/7 to a decimal, if you didn't have to.
• i agree can you also compare fractions by rewriting them as decimals
• Yes, converting to decimals is one method of comparing fractions. This method is easiest when the denominators are “nice” (for example, 2, 4, 5, 8, 10, 20, etc).

Have a blessed, wonderful day!
• Is this going to get harder or easier because I’m in forth and they haven’t taught this yet but right now this is easy but will it get harder or easier?
• when do u use fractions?
• When one number is on top of the other number it is called a fraction
• What is a tape diagram ?
• A tape diagram is a diagram like the one he is drawing in the video
• At how do you fill in the color of the rectangular and get you get any more answers?

• what if 1 of the fraction is a mixed number

• Convert the mixed number to an "improper" fraction by multiplying the denominator times the whole number "base" then add it to the numerator. That number is the "new" numerator, with the denominator unchanged. Example: 1 2/3 as an improper fraction is 3 * 1 + 2 = 5 as the numerator (since 1 is the "base") and 3 as the denominator, thus 5/3.

• There is a lot of different ways people do it and this is another way.
