- What kind of degree do you have to get to get into pixar?(27 votes)
- Pixar hires a lot of people with different degrees, but in order to give input to the story telling side of things you need to be a filmmaker. I know for the animation side you can get in with a visualization degree, but I'm sure there are other degrees which they hire for.
Update summer 2022:
Pixar hires people depending on what they specialize in. Animation is a big one, since that includes rigging, modeling, animation, layout, lighting, etc. Graphic design, illustration, and fine arts are all good bets if you want to go into storyboarding. As far as I know, they still only hire filmmakers for their writing. I mentioned Visualization before, but I did not realize at the time that that degree was only offered at, like, two colleges (Texas A&M and Harvard, I believe). From everything that I have been told, art/animation jobs look at your portfolio/demo reel first and the names on your resume second, so keep that in mind when looking at schools.(49 votes)
- are there any places where you can give directors something you've written and get money for it? like can some people have their story turned into films?
Also if you want animate what would be a great app to do so on?(22 votes)- FlipaClip is an app on Androids that you can animate on its free and you can use that to make your movie too(18 votes)
- i have a few ideas for books that I could write. one them is the Soul of Sakaara. does that sound like a good book?(12 votes)
- that sounds like a great book. would you mind sharing it with me. i've read all my books:)(12 votes)
- Are there any drama, action, comedy and romance?(13 votes)
- so does it mean that the Protagonist in frozen is elsa(7 votes)
- Good question, but in Frozen-I think the story centers more around Ana and the second movie has Elsa as the protagonist.(6 votes)
- So whats a good 3-D animation program? possibly free ones. but i wanna learn how to and make my movie(9 votes)
- This is only for if you really want to get serious with 3d animations (because it's expensive and advanced) but Maya is a really wonderful animation program(2 votes)
- My story: inside out
perspective: 3rd person
world: Rilly's head
character:fear
protagonist: joy and sadness(9 votes) - Does anyone want to hear an idea I had for a book/story? It's about mythical creatures in the modern world. Somewhat Harry Potter-ish. (NOT fantastic beasts and where to find them. It takes place from the creature's perspective.)(6 votes)
- Yes, that would be great-I think it's always nice to see modern twists on widely accepted tales or legends, and mythical creatures are always fun!(3 votes)
- Is it necessary use something from our life in all stories that we write?
What is the exactly thing we should add to our story from our lifes? Could it be just an especific interaction between two characters or, maybe, an emotional moment?
I want to write a fantasy story but my life is not so exciting haha(4 votes)- In my opinion, things in stories are based off of the author's experience. (which is why exposure to a lot of books and movies can be helpful) Even over exaggerating events, settings, characters, etc. can make for a fun story. Using something from your life isn't really like a check box that you need to fill in. It's more of a suggestion for finding inspiration, and usually, your life experiences will naturally weave themselves into the story. So there's not really an exact thing from your life that you have to add to your story. If it's written by you, it'll probably by genuine. Also, good luck with writing fantasy-have fun with it!(6 votes)
- I have been doing a lot of drawing since I was at least 4 years old honest and kept drawing but never got better. Should I keep drawing and try to have more fun with the way of I draw out things that shouldn't be real in my life? Honestly I think it's no good of to keep on trying the same skill over and over again honestly. What do ya'll think about that?(6 votes)
