- I noticed in one of the "entertainment" dances, there were a lot of torches or small open fires in the center, around which the dancers moved. How often do they catch a costume on fire or burn the building down? Do they use fireproof materials?(2 votes)

- In Bali, dances are usually used to depict epic stories or for a ritual, or sometimes just for entertainment; the "meaning" depends on the context of the actual performance itself. The music is used for accompaniment to the dances, but often they are also used for entertainment (like in festivals).(2 votes)

- I noticed in the dances at the Royal Cremation that though the dancers were in costume for the performance and participants in the recessional seemed to be in Balinese clothing, one of the drummers was in a purple polo shirt. I ask, "to what extent is life in Bali carried out in modern dress?"(1 vote)
