What will happen to the base and the sturts? Are they also golden?

It is intriguing to me that this complex lost wax technique was used on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. Was this process brought to the Americas with the explorers? Or was it used earlier than that? Did people carry the technology with them as they migrated into the Americas? Or is there any evidence that it was invented independently? Thanks!
