Your climate can tell a lot of things about where you live, because organisms adapt to their surroundings. The easiest example of this is camouflage. If you take any animal living on ice caps, it'll probably be white. If you do the same for an animal in the desert, it'll probably be sand-colored. For people, the climate can affect how you dress, what sort of food you eat, your main income source, and a whole bunch of things like that.

Your environment means everything around you. The weather, the landscape, and the types of plants and animals that live there are all part of your environment. Some places on earth have extreme environments—places that are incredibly hot or cold, or that have intense storms. These extremes can affect life dramatically!

Read stories that take place in those environments
Think about how living somewhere with extreme weather affects how people live

By:

Watching videos to help you understand what good readers and writers do
Reading and answering questions about literary and informational texts
