Reflection activity: What can you do?

Reflect on what we should be moving toward

🧐 REFLECT AND DISCUSS:

We’ve discussed how technology is designed to capture as much attention as possible from as many people as possible creates major societal harms.
  • What would you like to see change about the technology you use every day?
  • What beliefs and values would tech companies need to have to make those changes?
  • What, if anything, will you do to combat the harms of the attention economy?

I think less of putting pressures on influencers to be 'perfect' would help a lot. Not only would it help them, but it would also help us to understand that beauty is not everything. People are naturally different, and that is what allowed the human race to survive for so long.

What can be the solution to the social media problems? After all, we are the ones that want attention, we are the ones that want those viral content. Without these kind of contents, social medias would be boring.
(this is not claim. it is just a opinion that is born out of my curiosity)

    1. opt in / opt out of cr*zy like algorithms. Less divide and conquer.

    2. Short time changes < long time changes

    3. I, for many years have been a zombie never reflecting on my actions. This is due to negative thoughts being my reality. I can use mindfulness and growth mindset to break bad habits and create new paths in my brain. Aforementioned method can be used to reflect and break my bad social media habits.

    1. A change I would like to see is that we don't spend a long time in the internet and to forget about other people's option on how we look or dress.
    2. They would have to make those videos or clips non-famous.
    3. I would help those who are having a ruff time and that it doesn't matter what people say.

Complete shut down of companies like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and any entity like them, I believe the world would be a better place w/o them.

A Change that must occur in technology is a way to connect to the real work and not just throw lies out to the world. Allow more people to see and get to know the world and nature better and no relly on social media so much.
