Activity: Write your own SMART goal

Write a SMART goal for yourself for this semester or the next month. Here are some things to consider when writing your SMART goal. Make sure your goal is SMART:
  • Specific: Is the goal linked to one activity or one thought?
  • Measurable: Can I plot my progress on a graph? Can I say how much I’ve improved from the previous day or week?
  • Actionable: What task or action will I be doing? Can I draw a picture of someone doing that action?
  • Realistic: Are there examples of people who have achieved this level of success in this amount of time? What are some obstacles I might face along the way? Would any of those obstacles stop me in my tracks?
  • Timely: Did I include a set time period in which I want to achieve my goal? Days? Weeks? Months?

My SMART goal is to pass math with an A or a B. I will achieve this goal by studying and doing my work. I will also pass math by being inquisitive and learning outside of school. I plan to get this A by the first report card.

My SMART goal is to pass both of my upcoming AP tests. I can plot my progress due to the amount of perpetration that I have put into passing the tests. I will be going over old materials that my teachers have went over to be more prepared. I might draw a blank while writing about certain topics. By next month I hope to achieve this goal.

If I achieve my goal it will make taking college classes so much easier and a lot cheaper. If I don't pass theses test it takes my chances of going to college at an affordable price. I know i might have trouble coming up with a DBQ in just 45 mins twice. But I know that if I keep studying and practicing, I should be fine. AP TESTS

I want to be able to finish college with a Doctorate Degree.

Have a doctorate by the end of college, by finishing college strong, keeping that same effort through college.

I will have to look for colleges I would like to take apart in. Then I must keep a high gpa and make sure that I can make it all the way through. Hard part will be money.

It's possible, but very time consuming this will be stressful no matter what, a lot of work, money, and time will have to be put in this.

I want to achieve this in the next 6 or 7 years.

My goal is to become an artist manager when I grow up. I will try to reach this goal by reaching out to small artists and see if I can work with them. I also will try to promote my managerial skills and promote myself online so potential artists can come to me instead of coming to them. I want to complete this goal by 2028 two years after I graduate from high school

My SMART goal is to pass Spanish with a 3 or more. I will achieve this goal by paying more attention and starting to study more. I would also like to learn more outside of school if possible. This is a goal for my 2nd semester.

      Howdy Edward,

Learning languages is actually not best done in an academic setting. I am not saying this to discourage you from taking Spanish classes, but I would stress the importance of utilizing Spanish in your everyday activities.

      Here are some recommendations.
      (1) Find good apps and resources online. One of my favorites is Duolingo.
      (2) Find stories to read and listen to. Duolingo actually has podcasts as well as stories to read. One of my personal favorite ways to learn Spanish or new languages in general is to read the Bible in Spanish, as I am a Christian.
      (3) Find people to talk to. Duolingo has a feature called "Classes" that let you get together with other language learners and talk to them. There are also other social media apps that have ways that let you talk to other people in other languages.
      (4) Watch videos, movies, etc. in your target language. Receiving multimedia is a great way to learn your language. One of my favorite YouTube channels for learning Spanish is called Easy Spanish.
      (5) Many products let you change your language--play around with changing your target language for any websites you use consistently.

I hope you enjoy this tips, and I wish you well in your endeavors in Spanish.

      Hasta luego mi amigo!

I want to pass my physics class with a B or A, my english class with an A, my music class with an A, my history with a B or A. Pass my avid class with a 90, and pass this semester to increase my gpa, and for sure I want to graduate in the school I am right now.
