I'm a 11 year old and these videos are giving me a lot of tips and information.In this video,the same thing is happening to me right now.How do I overcome it?

Same here, only my environment were more...biased towards the salary instead of the happy you get from a job. There are two methods to deal with this: 1. Ignore them politely and keep pursuing your ultimate goal 2. Start listening to them, even if deep down, you know something's off I think it goes without saying which method benefits you the best.

You are 10 years old. Given that this course is already 7 years old, by the time you will be facing college entrance issues, it will be 12 or more years old. You are facing social obstacles. This lesson offers you a list of these, and for each of them there are suggestions for overcoming them. I suggest you take them one at a time. For instance, if one of the student stories is about being disabled, and you aren't, you need only listen to it to understand the obstacle another person is facing. But if one of the stories is about being African-American, and you ARE, then you should pay closer attention.

- I don't know, most every kid on the block I grew up, I still go there now, I'm the only one that made it to college. The rest are already either in jail or just got out. So overcoming my environment was... I don't even know how to explain it. It was just huge for me, because, you know, when you grow up in a neighborhood, and you have friends, and, you know... then you start succeeding in school, and they don't, you don't really hang out with them as much, and then you notice that you're kind of looked at as an outsider, and some people might want to, you know, participate in some of the activities they're doing just because they feel like they have to prove who they are. I saw what I wanted to do, I knew what I wanted to do, and I knew what I didn't want to become. So I just had to stay focused on the future rather than what's going on now.
