What is a mission?

We’ve got a lot of content on Khan Academy, and it grows every day. We’ve created missions to help students focus on content that is most meaningful to them. A mission is simply a curated set of content that users can access on their learning dashboard. Missions guide learners through a specific grade level or subject in a personalized way.

Each math mission on Khan Academy provides complete coverage of a particular grade level or subject. (For more information about the content included in specific missions, see What is a mission?) Additionally, most of our missions include missions foundations, which provide a quick review of prerequisites and check learners’ preparedness for grade- or subject-level material.

Choose a mission for your class

Choosing a mission for your Khan Academy class simply recommends a mission to your students and sets this mission as your class's default when you view your students' progress.

Your students can choose any mission, and they can work on multiple missions at once!
