I am a teacher in a government school, and teaching has always been more than just a profession for me. I believe that every child, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserves access to quality education and the opportunity to discover their potential.

Why I Started Using Khan Academy:

As a teacher, I noticed that students in the same classroom often have very different levels of understanding. Some students grasp a concept quickly, while others need more time, practice, and individual guidance. In a traditional classroom, it is difficult to provide unlimited practice and personalized support to every student.
That made me look for a platform that could complement classroom teaching. I discovered Khan Academy and started exploring how its videos, exercises, and practice activities could support my students.
I realized that Khan Academy could become a bridge between classroom teaching and independent learning. Students could learn at their own pace, practice repeatedly, and revisit concepts whenever they needed.

I have suffered from social anxiety since I was a kid, which eventually resulted in me not being able to attend classes at school. I stopped going to school for around six years, completely isolated from everything and everyone, and my education started developing major gaps.

Eventually, I decided enough was enough and started learning math through Khan Academy. I also started going to school again, and I now get top grades in my class.

To say Khan Academy changed my life would be an understatement. It hasn’t just changed my life, but the lives of so many other people as well.

I am presently studying 12th class. I first encountered khan academy video in my tenth class. I am, in my opinion, a person full of doubts for every piece in science and I actually started this vigorous behaviour of reading my science text completely from my 8th standard.

At that time, I used to watch Manocha academy videos which a clever student of my class suggested. I just take videos as a support and try to read all text. But when I was reading about different eye diseases like myopia and hypermetropia, I saw that in the book they used far point= focal length and made lens suitable for correction by calculating suitable power. But I can't get that to my gut. I cannot process why they took like that and for about 3 days, while going to school also, I searched for it in internet and asked many premature AIs about it but got no satisfactory answer. At last, I was really exhausted and filled with despair but somehow happend to notice khan academy video, by Mahesh Shenoy sir, and thought it is just a random video without any good explanation but just wanted to see what's really in there, after all I saw many. But this time, I was really, really filled with intense happiness when I saw his beautiful explanation. Not gonna lie, I really got tears of happiness that time, maybe the very first time.

Then I started to dig deep into khan academy. But I was really stunned to see khan academy is 100% free. First I thought it's just a bait but confirmed it to be true. Then on, my journey in science is made really easy with AIs and khan academy and I am truly devoted to Mahesh Shenoy sir and all those that made khan academy possible. I have also been benefited from some calculus, thermodynamics videos and other stuff, but the true love was inspired by Mahesh Shenoy sir.

I failed college calculus thrice in a row before using Khan Academy, I just got a distinction in the recent exams awaiting graduation.

I’m 14, and before last year I honestly thought I was just “bad at maths.” No matter how hard I tried, something always felt confusing. Fractions, algebra, negative numbers — it all looked like a foreign language. I’d sit in class pretending I understood, but inside I felt stressed and embarrassed.

Everything changed the day my cousin told me to try Khan Academy.

At first, I thought it was just another boring website. But the moment I started using it, something clicked. The videos were short, clear, and actually made sense. It felt like the teacher was talking directly to me, not to a whole classroom. And the best part? I could pause, rewind, and rewatch as many times as I needed without feeling judged.

Within a few weeks, I noticed something weird — I wasn’t scared of maths anymore. I started doing practice questions for fun. I even got a little obsessed with earning the badges and streaks. My confidence grew so much that I began helping my friends with their homework, which felt surreal because I used to be the one asking for help.

The biggest moment came during a maths test this year. I got one of the highest scores in my class. My teacher literally raised her eyebrows and said, “Whatever you’re doing, keep doing it.” I didn’t tell her my secret, but inside I felt proud — like I’d finally proved to myself that I wasn’t “bad at maths” after all.

Khan Academy didn’t just help me with school; it changed how I see myself. It made me realise that sometimes you’re not bad at something — you just need someone to explain it in the right way. And for me, that someone was Khan Academy.
