A sacred 600-year-old Indian bronze image of the Hindu deity Shiva is one of the masterpieces of the Asian Art Museum's collection. This video shows the master artisans in a South Indian bronze-casting workshop making similar images in the complex, time-honored way.

- Fascinating! What is the smallest individual piece that can be cast in this fashion? I would imagine that a certain point, either thru size limitations or issues with handling the molten material, that smaller pieces might have to made by another method. Thanks!(1 vote)
