Fallacies: Slippery Slope

In this Wireless Philosophy video, Joseph Wu (University of Cambridge) introduces you to the slippery slope argument. This argument is that when one event occurs, other related events will follow, and this slippery slope will eventually lead to undesirable consequences. Wu walks us through this rhetorical strategy and shows us how to avoid committing a fallacy.

  I think one may be able to make an argument on the basis of absolute breakage of speed limit. for although 70 is only 1 more than 69, 70 is 5 more than 65, which was the original speed limit. Therefore one could draw an absolute line to not be crossed even when the line is only 1 more than what's behind it.

Aren't we on a slippery slope with the current (5/6/19) obstructionist behavior of the executive branch in the US? Almost on a daily basis we are confronted with denial of constitutional norms thanks to no Republican resistance. I think this fits all the criteria of being on a slippery slope towards a monarchy, or worse.

Slippery Slope example :
If I buy a dog at the pound
then the keepers will say to buy another dog and I will have to buy all the dogs therefor I will not buy a dog !
