KIPP is a charter management organization with schools all over the country. We worked with two bay area KIPP schools, KIPP Bridge in Oakland and KIPP Heartwood in San Jose.

At KIPP Bridge, Kerry Muse taught a math class to students who were far behind grade-level using Khan Academy as main component of his curriculum.

At KIPP Heartwood, 7th and 8th grade classrooms used Khan Academy to supplement daily lessons with visits to the computer lab and regular use of a mobile lab. 7th grade teacher Anna Gunderson used Khan Academy integrated into her unit lessons (e.g., Become a Fractions Ninja), but also had "Review Days" to motivate students before test days. Based on the pilot’s success, KIPP intends to scale to more campuses and classes in the next school year.
